Website Health

From your website address to a clearer next step.

The check is one mobile lab measurement of the public page you submit. It is not a crawl of the whole website, and opening this explanation does not start a measurement.

What you do

  1. Enter a public website address and a contact email. Use the address of the page you want measured, including a page deeper in the site if that is the one you care about. The email is saved with the report so the report link can be sent there.
  2. One mobile check runs. It usually takes 30–90 seconds. The page shows progress for that submission. Sending the form again does not start a second measurement of the same submission.
  3. The saved report opens. When the check is saved, the report shows the scores, findings and suggested starting points for that page.
  4. The report link is emailed after a successful save. The message is sent with the site’s existing mail service. Marketing follow-ups are off: the address is not added to a mailing list.
  5. You can select actions and print. On the report, you can add findings to an action plan and print the report and plan. The selected actions stay in that browser.

Email, access and Academy

The email is used for the report. It is not a request for marketing. The report link expires after seven days. Anyone with the link can open the report until then, so share it only with people who should see the findings.

Reading the Academy guides needs no account and no email. The guides stay available after a report link has expired.

Useful answers

What if the check fails?

A failed check does not show a sample score and does not save a report. The page tells you that the check could not be completed. Check that the address is a public page, then submit it again. There is a limit on how often a check can be requested. No score is invented to fill a gap.

When does the email arrive?

The report link is sent after the report has been saved. That does not guarantee it will reach a particular inbox. Look for a message from Ascent Media, and check the address you typed. The report also opens in the browser when the save succeeds, so the first viewing does not depend on the email.

How do I get back to the report?

Use the link in the email, or the report that opened when the check finished. The same browser can also ask to open the report from that browser. After seven days the link stops working. A new check is a new measurement and a new link.

Which page should I test?

Submit the public page you want to understand. The homepage is a reasonable start. A landing page, service page or contact page is a better choice when that is where customers hesitate. The result describes that address, not every page on the website.

Check the page you want to understand

The checker asks for the page and an email. It does not run until you submit it.

If you would like to talk about what a report is showing, contact Ascent. That is a conversation. It does not start a check, and it does not add you to a mailing list.
