THE BUSINESS CONTEXT / 3 min
Visibility starts with relevance
Being found is only valuable when the visitor is a good fit. A service business needs pages that connect a real customer need with a clear offer, relevant location and credible reason to enquire. That requires understanding both the business and the questions people bring to the page. A technically tidy page can still leave those questions unanswered.

Why green ticks are not the whole story
A checker can confirm that a description exists or a page permits indexing. It cannot establish whether the page makes a persuasive, accurate case for your service. Page purpose, content, structure and the wider site need to work together. Google may choose its own search title or snippet, and no description can guarantee a ranking.
A page can pass a meta-description check while saying little more than “Welcome to our website”. The check confirms a technical element; it does not judge whether the message helps the right customer choose.

Connect search with your business priorities
A useful search review starts with the services you want to grow and the places you genuinely serve. It then considers how your pages explain those services, support one another and lead towards an enquiry. That creates a basis for deciding what to improve first. Ascent can help you frame that discussion around the business you want to attract, rather than a list of isolated technical fixes.
Not every business needs more pages. Sometimes an important existing page needs a clearer role. The recommendation should follow the evidence.

Know what you want from the review
A worthwhile recommendation should explain which page or topic deserves attention, why it matters to your business and how progress could be assessed. Search takes ongoing observation; a one-off score is not proof of commercial success. Start with the question you want the work to answer.
